Requirements

Have at least two years of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, maintain visitor and contractor records, and report suspicious activity or unauthorized access in accordance with site procedures.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site personnel and emergency responders as directed.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, parking areas, and access points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
Prepare accurate reports, maintain required logs, and communicate observations, incidents, and policy violations to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.
