As an Unarmed Security Officer supporting a government corrections setting, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and communicate professionally with staff and visitors. Requirements

  • Have at least two years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, contractors, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, maintain visitor and contractor records, and report suspicious activity or unauthorized access in accordance with site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site personnel and emergency responders as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, parking areas, and access points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Prepare accurate reports, maintain required logs, and communicate observations, incidents, and policy violations to Allied Universal leadership and designated site contacts.
