As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Examiner in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Commercial Real Estate. This role offers flexibility and opportunity, allowing you to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using the Claim a Shift platform. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. This position supports a welcoming environment through strong communication, teamwork, integrity, and a caring, reliable approach while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a high-activity setting.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a high-traffic commercial location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, public access areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and/or potential concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, common areas, and other assigned locations to help control access, support crowd management, and/or report maintenance or policy-related issues.
  • Support daily operations by assisting with directions, answering general questions, completing routine reports, and/or following post orders related to customer service and security-related responsibilities.
