As a Security Officer Patrol Access Assistant in Arlington, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. Our Security Officers monitor and patrol a dynamic tech location, staying visible to help deter security-related concerns while delivering outstanding customer service and communication. In this unarmed patrol role, you will complete routine rounds, support access awareness, and respond to site needs with professionalism. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
  • Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to all persons at the location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout office areas, common spaces, entry points, and the exterior perimeter to help identify potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor visitor, employee, and/or vendor activity in accordance with location policies, and report maintenance, policy, or security-related issues through the appropriate channels.
  • Support a professional environment within a technology-focused location by observing site rules, documenting daily activity, and helping to address questions or concerns from staff and guests.
