About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Driver Patrol in Syracuse, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy healthcare location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible, and help identify and report security-related concerns. You will support staff, patients, and visitors with clear communication, calm customer service, and timely response to incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license, and you will work with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of security experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of buildings, units, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or policy concerns.
  • Monitor access points and respond to requests for assistance, helping to manage visitor flow and support a respectful environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical-related disturbances, disorderly conduct, and/or policy violations, and coordinate with site leadership and emergency services as needed.
  • Complete required reports and logs, document incidents, and communicate observations and/or concerns to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
