About The Position

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Driver Patrol in Columbia, MO, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will engage shoppers and associates with strong customer service and clear communication, while documenting observations and escalating concerns through teamwork. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy requirements, supporting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, and integrity-driven culture.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of sales floors, stock areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.
• Monitor customer and associate activity, identify potential concerns, and communicate observations to store management and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disputes, medical events, and policy violations, and assist with scene control until additional resources arrive.
• Complete reports and maintain detailed logs of patrol activity, incidents, and customer interactions in accordance with site requirements and Allied Universal guidelines.
