Security Officer - Unarmed Airport Part Time
About The Position
As a Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocals and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements
- 20+ Years of Age
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical exam
- Be at least 20 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
- Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a government airport location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, reporting, and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, public areas, parking areas, access roads, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Monitor access points and restricted areas by observing pedestrian and vehicle traffic, checking identification and/or credentials as directed, and documenting unusual activity.
- Complete detailed reports, incident logs, and required documentation, and communicate key information to site leadership and/or law enforcement partners as needed.
