As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a shelter setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the shelter location, building entrances, common areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain awareness of visitor and resident activity.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and required documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
