As a Security Officer Transitional Shelter Patrol in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an Unarmed Security Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide outstanding customer service to residents, visitors, and staff. Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers at a shelter location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed by policy.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of shelter common areas, entrances, exits, surrounding grounds, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, observe visitor activity, and assist with maintaining orderly entry and exit procedures in accordance with site-specific requirements.
  • Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately; communicate relevant information to supervisors and site personnel.
