As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, support access control, and remain visible to help deter incidents. Requirements

  • Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, common areas, entry points, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
  • Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry as directed, and assist with visitor procedures and resident movement in accordance with site-specific requirements.
  • Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift communications, and promptly notify appropriate site personnel of security-related concerns.
