Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a shelter location.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, observe visitor and resident activity, and report policy violations, suspicious behavior, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
