About The Position
As a Security Officer Supermarket in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic retail location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and assist customers and team members with professionalism. You will communicate clearly, respond to security-related concerns, and contribute to a welcoming environment. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Nice To Haves
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Loss prevention experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to shoppers, team members, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter.
- Monitor access points and observe activity within the location to help deter unauthorized entry, theft-related activity, and other security-related concerns.
- Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.
