As a Security Officer State County City Licensed Patrol in San Jose, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist with access control and visitor interactions. You will provide outstanding customer service, clear communication, and reliable support while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, caring, team-oriented, and integrity-driven values.

Requirements

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, offices, public areas, parking facilities, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and public emergency services when needed.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas; verify credentials as directed and maintain accurate visitor, incident, and daily activity documentation.
  • Communicate professionally with facility staff, contractors, and the public while following applicable policies, procedures, and post orders.
