As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will support residents, visitors, and staff through professional communication and exceptional customer service while reporting concerns and responding to situations with integrity. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, medical situations, and critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating matters according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of interior common areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and potential security-related issues.
  • Monitor access points and visitor activity, assist with sign-in procedures as assigned, and communicate site rules and expectations respectfully.
  • Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, patrol observations, and security-related activities, and coordinate with site staff and emergency responders when appropriate.
