About The Position

As a Security Officer Shopping Mall in Canoga Park, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a busy retail location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents. This is a driving post, so you may use a company or site vehicle as part of your patrol responsibilities. You will also deliver outstanding customer service, communicate clearly, and support a caring, reliable, and team-focused environment with integrity.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and sharing information with site contacts and/or local responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout retail common areas, storefront corridors, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and vendor activity, and report suspicious behavior, maintenance issues, and/or policy violations according to site protocols.
• Support closing and opening activities, assist with crowd and queue management during busy periods, and provide directions and general assistance to the public throughout the location.
