As a Security Officer Security Screening in Rockville, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener in a government location, you will help monitor entry points, screen visitors and belongings, and support a professional, welcoming environment through strong communication and attention to detail. Requirements

  • Possess at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • A guard card/license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access control practices, and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen employees, visitors, and contractors entering the location by following posted screening protocols and reporting unusual items, behaviors, and/or incidents to site leadership.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, while documenting observations and supporting security-related response procedures.
  • Monitor entry points, verify credentials or identification as directed by site policy, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter as assigned, noting conditions, assisting with order maintenance, and communicating concerns through proper channels.
