As a Security Officer Security Screening in Hodgkins, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Screener at a busy logistics and distribution location, where you will monitor entry activity, screen individuals and property, and support daily operations with strong customer service and communication. In this role, you will remain visible to help reduce security-related concerns while working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, care for people, and integrity in every interaction.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and drivers by following site-specific procedures, screening protocols, and Allied Universal standards at a logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen individuals, personal property, packages, and/or vehicles entering or exiting the location in accordance with post orders and client-directed procedures.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or shipping documentation as directed, and help to deter unauthorized access or prohibited items.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around designated areas, screening stations, and the perimeter, with work environments and conditions varying by location.
