About The Position

As a Security Officer Screening Technician in Indianapolis, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As a Screener at a logistics and distribution location, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening personnel and items, monitoring access points, and supporting security-related procedures. You will remain visible, communicate professionally, and provide outstanding customer service while using technology to document activities. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • X-ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and drivers at a logistics and distribution location by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and other authorized entrants in accordance with established access-control and screening procedures.
  • Monitor screening equipment, access points, and surrounding areas; report suspicious activity, prohibited items, and policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and contacting emergency services and/or site leadership as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, loading zones, business areas, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
