About The Position

As a Security Officer Screening Operations in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener at a government location, you will help maintain a welcoming, controlled environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, and identifying prohibited items in accordance with site procedures. You will remain visible, communicate professionally with the public and team members, and help deter security-related incidents. Requirements

  • Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
  • Client requires proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be 21 years of age or older.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Screen individuals and permitted items entering designated areas using established screening equipment and procedures; identify prohibited items and report concerns according to site protocols.
  • Verify access credentials, direct visitors to appropriate locations, and maintain accurate records of screening activities and incidents as required.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency responders when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity; report hazards, suspicious activity, and security-related concerns.
