About The Position

As a Security Officer Screening Desk in South Chesterfield, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. At a busy logistics and distribution location, our Security Officers help monitor access points and screen visitors, team members, and vehicles while conducting routine patrols and remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents. This role blends customer service and communication with a caring, agile, and reliable approach, giving you the chance to support daily operations through teamwork, integrity, and innovative thinking.

Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Loss prevention experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a busy logistics and distribution location.
  • Screen individuals, personal property, packages, and/or vehicles entering or exiting the location in accordance with post orders, access protocols, and inspection guidelines.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observed activity, screening results, and unusual events according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, screening areas, dock spaces, and perimeter, as working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or shipping-related documentation, and report policy violations, restricted items, or unauthorized activity to the appropriate personnel.
