About The Position

As a Security Officer Screening Desk in South Chesterfield, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. At a busy logistics and distribution location, our Security Officers help monitor access points and screen visitors, team members, and vehicles while conducting routine patrols and remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents. This role blends customer service and communication with a caring, agile, and reliable approach, giving you the chance to support daily operations through teamwork, integrity, and innovative thinking.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Loss prevention experience is preferred.
Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a busy logistics and distribution location.
Screen individuals, personal property, packages, and/or vehicles entering or exiting the location in accordance with post orders, access protocols, and inspection guidelines.
Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and document observed activity, screening results, and unusual events according to site procedures.
Conduct regular and random patrols around the business, screening areas, dock spaces, and perimeter, as working environments and conditions may vary by location.
Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and/or shipping-related documentation, and report policy violations, restricted items, or unauthorized activity to the appropriate personnel.
