About The Position

As a Security Officer Screening Coordinator in Newark, DE, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Screener in a government location, you will help monitor entry points, screen visitors and/or belongings, and support daily operations through strong communication and customer service. Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid experience is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and the public by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen individuals and personal items at designated entry points using approved procedures and security-related screening equipment while following post instructions and access protocols.
  • Verify identification, visitor credentials, and authorized access permissions, and direct visitors, employees, and contractors to the appropriate location as needed.
  • Respond to incidents, prohibited item discoveries, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report observations through required documentation and/or communication channels.
  • Support order at entrances and surrounding access areas by monitoring activity, helping to deter unauthorized entry, and conducting regular and random patrols when assigned by the site.
