About The Position

As a Security Officer Screening Clerk in Wayne, NJ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. As a Screener in a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help monitor entry points, screen visitors and/or team members, and support access control activities while providing exceptional customer service and communication. You will remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents and contribute to a caring, reliable culture built on teamwork, integrity, and innovative service through Allied Universal.

Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or drivers by carrying out site-specific screening procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen people, packages, and/or personal belongings in accordance with post orders and site policies, documenting unusual findings and reporting concerns to site leadership.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas, loading zones, and/or operational spaces.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including escalating security-related concerns and assisting with traffic, delivery, and/or visitor flow as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, remaining aware of changing conditions within dock areas, parking areas, and/or warehouse surroundings.
