About The Position

As a Security Officer Residential Shelter in Long Island City, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential Shelters. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a residential shelter location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support residents, visitors, and staff with professional communication and customer service. You will help address security-related concerns while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, team-oriented, and integrity-driven culture.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a residential location.
  • Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential common areas, entry points, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Monitor access to the location, greet and direct visitors, verify authorization as required, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.
  • Communicate observations, maintenance concerns, and security-related issues to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
