About The Position

As a Security Officer - Research Facility in La Jolla, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Requirements

A minimum of 2 years of security-related experience is required.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
CPR certification is preferred.
A guard card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and/or critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing relevant information with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Conduct regular and random patrols throughout academic, administrative, and common areas, as well as exterior grounds and perimeter locations, noting unusual activity and helping to deter unauthorized access.
Monitor entry points, observe campus-related activity, and provide guidance to visitors and/or deliveries in support of daily location operations and established protocols.
Assist with reporting hazards, damaged property, and/or policy concerns, and support emergency drills, after-hours checks, and other assigned security-related duties as needed.
