About The Position

As a Security Officer - Reception in Phoenix, AZ, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a high-tech location as a Front Desk Security Officer, welcoming visitors, managing access control and badge processes, monitoring entries, and documenting security-related activity using a computer and/or tablet. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A Guard Card and/or security-related license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer and/or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors at a front desk location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Control access by greeting and screening visitors, checking identification, issuing temporary badges, managing a visitor log, and/or directing guests to the appropriate contact in accordance with site requirements.
  • Monitor alarms, phones, and security-related communication channels, and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or policy concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalating conflicts when appropriate and coordinating with local emergency services as directed.
  • Maintain accurate shift documentation such as incident reports, access records, and handoff notes, and support a professional lobby environment by assisting with basic administrative tasks when assigned.
