As a Security Officer Protection Specialist in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal at a leading tech location as an unarmed patrol officer in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will conduct routine foot, bike, and driving patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Physically able to walk, run, bike, and/or hike 10 miles PER day.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Possess 2 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be able to ride a bike.
  • Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or public emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout offices, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or visitor access when required, and report policy violations, maintenance issues, and/or suspicious behavior to the appropriate site personnel.
  • Support day-to-day operations by maintaining visible presence, providing directions and assistance, and following Allied Universal post orders and client-specific expectations for a professional environment.
