About The Position

As a Security Officer - Port in PORT HUENEME, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, managing badges, and documenting access activity. Requirements

Have at least one year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Customer service experience is preferred.
A Guard Card or license is preferred.
Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to authorized personnel, visitors, vendors, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
Monitor access points at a government maritime transportation location, verify credentials and permissions, and maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and delivery records.
Control entry and exit of personnel, vehicles, and materials in accordance with established procedures and applicable regulatory requirements.
Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
