Requirements

  • A New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • The client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Applicants must be 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • X-Ray screening experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and reporting details according to site protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entry points, exterior grounds, and perimeter areas, noting unusual activity and/or conditions that may need attention.
  • Monitor access to the location by observing entrances and exits, verifying authorized entry where required, and helping to deter unauthorized activity through visible presence and professional interaction.
  • Prepare clear, timely documentation of incidents, daily activities, and/or maintenance concerns, and communicate relevant updates to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
