About The Position

As a Security Officer Experienced GED Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Allied Universal Security Officer in a government ferry transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support travelers and staff with outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with supervisors, local authorities, and/or designated personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, public access areas, waiting areas, entry points, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and observe pedestrian traffic to help to deter unauthorized entry, policy violations, and/or disorderly conduct while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and/or shift documentation, and relay important information during shift changes to support ongoing site operations.
