Job Description As a Security Officer Corporate Patrol in Central Valley, NY , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer in a dynamic retail location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will support access control needs, assist visitors and staff with professionalism, and deliver outstanding customer service. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $19.00 - $20.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Day Time Mon 10:00 AM - 09:00 PM Tue 05:30 PM - 11:30 PM Sat 04:00 PM - 09:00 PM Sun 10:00 AM - 09:00 PM
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, associates, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observed activity and sharing details with site leadership when needed.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the sales floor, entrances, receiving areas, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points, high-traffic areas, and merchandise zones to help to deter theft, trespassing, and/or policy violations while maintaining a professional presence.
- Support closing and opening activities, assist with crowd and line management during busy periods, and report maintenance, lighting, and/or property concerns that could affect daily operations.
