As a Security Officer / Patrol in San Bernardino, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service and communication while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and committed to integrity.

Requirements

Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

Access control and badge experience is preferred.
Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
Conduct regular and random patrols of the shelter location, surrounding grounds, entry points, common areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry as directed by site policies, and document visitor activity, incidents, and patrol observations.
Communicate professionally with onsite personnel and emergency responders, escalating concerns and following established reporting procedures.
