As a Security Officer / Patrol in San Bernardino, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a shelter location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service and communication while working with a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, caring, and committed to integrity.

Requirements

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the shelter location, surrounding grounds, entry points, common areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
  • Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry as directed by site policies, and document visitor activity, incidents, and patrol observations.
  • Communicate professionally with onsite personnel and emergency responders, escalating concerns and following established reporting procedures.
