As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a respected cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public spaces, and surrounding areas while helping to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence. This role combines routine patrols with outstanding customer service and clear communication for guests and staff. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, exhibit areas, public spaces, entrances, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and observe visitor traffic, deliveries, and/or restricted areas in support of site rules, collection protection practices, and daily operations.
  • Report maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel and assist with crowd management during events, programs, and high-traffic periods.
