As a Security Officer Patrol Specialist in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a dynamic utilities location. In this role, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and assist with access activity and site observations. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and other security-related duties appropriate to the location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout utility-related facilities, grounds, and perimeter areas to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, gates, and restricted areas, verify credentials and/or visitor information, and document security-related activities according to site policies.
• Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and daily activities, and report maintenance concerns, hazards, and/or suspicious behavior to the appropriate personnel.
