As a Security Officer Patrol Services Specialist in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. In this people-first role, you will support access awareness, observe daily activity, and communicate clearly with shoppers, staff, and leadership while working with agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• A state, county, and/or city issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card and/or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, shoppers, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to site contacts and/or emergency services when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the store, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity and/or policy violations.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and employee traffic, and document security-related incidents, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Support loss prevention and store operations by reporting suspicious behavior, assisting with crowd and line management, and helping to maintain an orderly shopping environment.
