Join Allied Universal as an unarmed officer at a government corrections location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and help to deter security-related incidents through a visible presence. Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, and/or assigned posts to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials as required, and support movement control procedures for staff, visitors, and/or approved contractors.
  • Assist with inmate-related observation support, maintain awareness of restricted areas, and follow post orders and escalation protocols during routine operations and/or emergency situations.
