Requirements

  • 2+ years of security-related experience is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A Guard Card or license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or campus partners by carrying out security-related procedures, location policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns according to site guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, walkways, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points, assist with visitor directions and/or escort requests, and support campus events, after-hours operations, and other location needs as assigned.
