As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support a positive customer experience through professional communication. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver’s license under AU Driver Policy Requirements. You will report activity clearly, collaborate with store teams, and bring Allied Universal values of integrity, teamwork, and a people-first culture to every shift.

Requirements

• A New York State Security Guard License is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and reporting concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout the retail sales floor, entrances, stock areas, and exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity.
• Monitor access points and assist with loss prevention support by observing for suspicious behavior and reporting potential theft indicators per site guidelines.
• Support closing and opening routines as assigned, including checking doors, monitoring parking areas, and coordinating with local public services when requested.
