About The Position

As a Security Officer - Patrol Driver in Darlington, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a tech, media, and telecom location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control and visitor badge processes. This is a driving post, so you will use a vehicle to cover assigned areas and respond to calls for service. Requirements

  • Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a tech, media, and/or telecom location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards or irregular conditions.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow by checking identification, issuing badges as directed, following sign-in requirements, and directing guests to appropriate destinations per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation, notifying site contacts, and requesting public emergency services when needed.
  • Complete written and/or electronic incident reports, patrol logs, and daily activity documentation, and communicate relevant updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
