About The Position

As a Security Officer - Neighborhood Patrol Driver in Mount Vernon, IN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Allied Universal Patrol Unarmed Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will respond to concerns with clear communication and customer service, documenting activity and supporting site operations through teamwork and integrity. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license and compliance with AU Driver Policy Requirements.

Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial manufacturing location.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, tank farms, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter fencing to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access control points and verify identification and/or visitor authorization, maintaining visitor and contractor logs in accordance with site requirements.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including reporting spills, leaks, fires, medical incidents, and suspicious activity to site management and/or local responders as directed.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, shift logs, and patrol documentation, and communicate hazards and operational concerns to oncoming personnel and site contacts.
