About The Position

As a Security Officer Patrol Driver Route in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic education location as an unarmed patrol officer in a driving post. You will conduct routine patrols across campus areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities in an educational setting.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner while documenting observed conditions and actions taken.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout academic buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and report suspicious behavior.
  • Monitor access points, check credentials when required, and assist students, staff, visitors, and/or faculty with directions and general location information.
  • Support campus operations by reporting maintenance concerns, policy violations, and/or unusual activity to the appropriate contacts in accordance with site procedures.
