As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a busy retail mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure environment for shoppers, tenants, and staff. You will complete routine patrols, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and deliver strong customer service and communication. This is a driving post, requiring a valid driver’s license and meeting Allied Universal driver policy requirements.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including addressing disturbances, assisting with medical situations, and contacting site leadership and/or public emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shopping areas, common spaces, exterior walkways, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or security-related concerns.
• Monitor and control access points as assigned, observe for unusual activity, and communicate with management and/or law enforcement when suspicious or criminal activity is observed.
• Complete accurate daily activity logs and incident reports, document observations, and communicate timely updates to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts.
