As a Security Officer Patrol Deterrence in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a government service location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors and staff. You will communicate professionally, respond to security-related concerns, and contribute to a caring culture built on teamwork, integrity, reliability, agility, and innovation at Allied Universal.

Requirements

At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of one year of relevant security experience. This experience should demonstrate the ability to handle security-related tasks and responsibilities effectively.
Proficient in using computers or tablets. This includes familiarity with basic software applications, email communication, and the ability to navigate digital platforms efficiently.
Possess prior customer service experience. This experience should reflect the ability to interact positively with customers, resolve issues, and provide exceptional service.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government service center by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including public access points, parking areas, and the facility perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity.
Monitor access to the location, observe visitor and employee activity, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, or maintenance concerns according to site-specific procedures.
Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities accurately; communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.
