Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support residents, staff, and visitors with outstanding customer service and communication. Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at the location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services when needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access to the location by observing foot traffic, checking authorized entry points, and documenting security-related concerns, policy violations, and/or incident details.
  • Support a respectful environment within the shelter setting by using de-escalation techniques, providing clear directions, and reporting resident and/or visitor concerns to appropriate personnel.
