About The Position

This Security Officer Patrol Armed Enhanced role in Houston, TX, provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned government site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts. The role involves a fixed-shift commitment (Anchor Shifts) for a designated site and weekly shift, requiring a six-month commitment. In addition to the fixed shift, employees can pick up extra shifts through a scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites, allowing for a variable schedule that can range from part-time to full-time hours (up to 40 hours per week) as needed. This position is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to scale up or down their hours.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, and/or security-related experience, or a college degree, is required.
  • An active DoD Confidential Clearance is required.
  • A minimum of 1 or more years of law enforcement experience, or 2 or more years of security-related supervisor and/or manager experience, or 3 or more years of security-related experience, is required.
  • An armed guard card or license is required.
  • A college degree is required.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of 6 months or more of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience is required.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting activity through appropriate channels.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and support authorized entry and exit procedures in accordance with site protocols.
  • Work closely with site contacts, first responders, and/or supervisors during emergencies, public interactions, and routine operations while maintaining a visible armed presence.
