Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities at a cultural institution.
Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout galleries, public areas, offices, collection-adjacent spaces, and the exterior perimeter to help identify unusual activity or facility concerns.
Monitor entrances, exits, and visitor flow; verify authorized access to restricted areas and report unauthorized access attempts or policy violations.
Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
Complete accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications while maintaining a professional, welcoming presence for museum guests.
