As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a community shelter location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide compassionate customer service to guests, staff, and visitors. Requirements

  • Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to clients, visitors, patients, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Monitor entry points and visitor activity, assist with check-in procedures, and report suspicious, disruptive, or unauthorized activity according to site policies.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency services as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the location, surrounding perimeter, parking areas, and common areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
  • Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.
