As an Access Control Officer at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and drivers. You will maintain a visible presence, conduct routine patrols, help deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • At least one year of security-related experience is required.
  • A TSA-issued TWIC is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, contractors, and/or employees by carrying out site-specific procedures at a maritime logistics and distribution location.
  • Monitor access points, verify credentials and shipping or visitor documentation, and maintain accurate entry and exit records in accordance with site policies.
  • Control vehicle, pedestrian, and contractor access to restricted areas, directing authorized personnel and deliveries to appropriate locations.
  • Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying site contacts and/or emergency personnel as required.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, staging areas, business facilities, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
