As a Screener in a government services location, you will help maintain a welcoming, controlled environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, and communicating clearly with staff and guests. You will remain visible to help deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, clients, and staff at a government health and family services location while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and policies.
  • Screen individuals and their belongings using assigned screening equipment and established procedures; communicate entry requirements and direct visitors as appropriate.
  • Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and report suspicious activity, prohibited items, or policy violations to site leadership and/or emergency personnel.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response protocols.
  • Maintain accurate screening-related logs, incident reports, and visitor records as required by site procedures.
