Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by following site-specific procedures and front desk protocols at a utilities location.
  • Monitor lobby and entry activity, verify identification and/or visitor credentials, and help to control access in accordance with security-related policies.
  • Answer phones, greet guests, issue visitor badges and/or passes, and maintain accurate front desk logs, records, and incident documentation.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or unusual situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts and emergency responders when appropriate.
  • Support daily operations by observing for suspicious, unauthorized, and/or disruptive activity near the reception area and reporting concerns according to established procedures.
