About The Position

As a Security Officer Part Time Patrol Relief in NEW YORK, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a government location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, support access control activities, and provide outstanding customer service and communication. In this role, you will help to discourage security-related incidents while contributing to a caring, people-first culture built on agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or public agency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location, including common areas, entrances, exits, hallways, stairwells, and perimeter areas, helping to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity within the location, helping to deter trespassing, loitering, and/or disruptive behavior while following post orders and established protocols.
  • Assist with reporting hazards, maintenance concerns, and/or unusual conditions observed during patrols, and support orderly operations by providing visible presence and professional interaction.
