Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help deter security-related incidents. In this people-first role, you will support residents, staff, and visitors through strong communication and customer service while bringing teamwork, integrity, and a reliable approach to every shift.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Have 5 or more years of security-related experience.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to residents, guests, staff, and/or visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a shelter location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and sharing relevant information with site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, common areas, entrances, exits, and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and report unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and activity within the location, assist with visitor and resident interactions, and support de-escalation efforts during challenging situations.
  • Follow post orders and Allied Universal protocols while maintaining a professional presence and supporting daily operations with attention to people, property, and security-related concerns.
